The FINANCIAL — Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia Dimitry Kumsishvili held a meeting with the representatives of the EU-Georgia Business Council (EUGBC) where topical questions were discussed.
Minister introduced the main point of the three-year work report of the Ministry and received the relevant feedback from the EUGBC representatives. Challenges of the business sector and the processes of preparation of the business forums around the world were discussed during the meeting. As Dimitry Kumsishvili stated, encouraging the business sector and the promotion of investments are one of the main objectives of the Government, according to Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia.
“Having open relations with private sector is one of the main priorities for us since lot of challenges can be discussed and overcame through the dialogue. I would like to provide the EUGBC representatives with the information about the achievements we have had for the last three years, current economic situation in the country and also, get acquainted with the topical questions of their interest,” – Dimitry Kumsishvili stated.
According to the Minister, such meetings shall be held regularly. “Since I have been appointed to this position two months ago, I have met representatives of almost every business association operation in the country. I still have set aside a number of such meetings, and this is very important because the promotion of business sector and encouraging the investment are major challenges and main objectives of the Government,” – Kumsishvili noted.
Meeting was held at TBC Bank head office. EUGBC General Secretary Zviad Chumburidze, TBC Bank co-founder Badri Japaridze, MAGTICOM president David Lee, HeidelbergCement Director General Chris Shluter as well as other members of the Board and the headers of other companies attended the meeting.
