The FINANCIAL — According to the First Vice Prime Minister of Georgia, Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development, Dimitry Kumsishvili, the tourism sector played a significant role in improving the feasible growth of Georgia’s GDP.
Dimitry Kumsishvili also highlighted the current trends of the tourism sector at a press conference on December 12. As the Minister noted, the tourism sector recorded around 19% growth of income in October, which is 35 million USD in nominal value, according to Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia.
“In October, we received 218 million USD from tourism. In total, we have received 2 billion 500 million USD in 10 months from the tourism sector. Accordingly, we are expecting 2 billion 700 million USD by the end of the year,” – the First Vice Prime Minister stated.
