The FINANCIAL — Cairn India has named Navin Agarwal its new chairman, the company said in a regulatory filing late Friday. From London Stock Exchange Home Page.
The explorer also named Agarwal, Tarun Jain and Priya Agarwal as additional directors on its board, after the U.K.-based Vedanta Resources PLC completed the acquisition of a majority stake in the company from Cairn Energy PLC.
Cairn India also said that Bill Gammell and Jann Brown, the nominee directors of Cairn UK Holdings Ltd., have resigned from the board.
Agarwal, who replaced Gammell at Cairn India, is also Vedanta's deputy executive chairman, the U.K. company's website showed.
Cairn India said Managing Director and Chief Executive Rahul Dhir and the existing independent directors will continue on the board.
