“We targeted this festival on all segments of musical tastes. Not only well known djs, but also bands such as A-Studio will be performing. But dj nights will be more oriented on house and tech-house music,” Gega Japaridze one of the festival Organizers, told The FINANCIAL.
There have been very few events such as this in Batumi. The tickets on Be Cool Festival in Adjara Music Hall cost round GEL 70 (USD 42). The performers at Be Cool Festival will be Louie Austen on 20th of August, Global Deejays on 21st and DJuma Soundsystem on 22nd. Tickets for other nights cost GEL 25-30.
The festival is organized Mtvrali Alubali Event Management Group, which also owns the Adjara Music Hall club in Batumi. The group has experience in bringing different DJs to the dance floor such as John AquaViva and Oliver Huntmen.
There are already 500 sold for the concerts. The forecasts for this festival are optimistic. As Gega Japaridze says last year, in July, there much fewer people at the club than this year.
“It’s not even the peak of the season and still club goers are very active. If it’s not full of people we manage to at least fill the half of the club. So we are optimistic for this August,” Gega Japaridze continues.
“We have strong sponsorship this year like previous year. We hope that this August will be much luckier for us than previous one. The sponsors for this festival are Magti, Kent, Lowenbrau, XL.The organizational cost for the festival was EUR 150,000. EUR 70,000 was spent on bringing the DJs,”
“I don’t know how many tourists will be coming to Batumi, but what I can surely say is that from 10th of August the club is going to be full of people. We’ve renovated the interior. The bar was split into two and now there’s more space for the dance floor. Now Adjara Music Hall has the capacity for over 1,400 people. Each night we are expecting on average 1,000 visitors. Plus we’ve improved the lightning, illuminations and the sound systems,” Gega Japaridze adds.
Last year the organizers of the festival had huge losses because of the August war. According to Gega Japaridze the loss mounted to GEL 700,000 (USD 417,000).
