The FINANCIAL — Almost 2.5 million passengers used Dublin Airport in June, an 18% increase on the same month last year.
The number of passengers travelling to and from continental Europe grew by 17% with almost 1.4 million passengers flying to and from European destinations, according to Dublin Airport.
Almost 753,000 passengers took flights to and from the UK, up 18% on the same month last year.
Transatlantic traffic increased by 21% in June, with over 295,000 people travelling between Dublin and North America during the month.
Other international traffic, which includes flights to the Middle East and North Africa, grew by 36% with almost 69,000 passengers flying to and from these destinations.
The number of passengers on domestic flights increased by 13% in June, with over 7,000 people taking flights within the Republic of Ireland last month.
In the first six months of this year almost 11.5 million passengers have used Dublin Airport, which is a 15% increase on the same period last year.
