The FINANCIAL — Over 1.7 million passengers travelled through Dublin Airport last month, a 17% increase over January 2015.
Passenger volumes to and from continental Europe grew by 18% with almost 815,000 passengers travelling to European destinations, according to Dublin Airport.
UK traffic grew by 16% with almost 686,000 passengers travelling this route sector in January.
More than 5,000 passengers travelled on domestic routes last month a 17% increase on January last year. Passenger volumes to and from North America grew by 26% with 129,000 passengers travelling stateside in January.
Other international traffic, principally to the Middle East increased by 3% with almost 71,000 passengers travelling these routes in January.
