The FINANCIAL — Participants from six Eastern Partnership (EaP) countries recently came together in Helsinki with experts from Finland and Portugal, the European Training Foundation (ETF) and the Civil Society Forum to share experience and to discuss ‘skills anticipation’ and matching systems.

Skills anticipation helps make sense of trends, especially in a period of economic stagnation, with the aim of building a culture of strategic planning among stakeholders and providers of all kinds, according to EU Neighbourhood Info.

The ‘Make it Match’ network was organised under the EaP Platform 2 on economic integration and convergence with EU policies. The workshop examined Finnish and Portuguese models of skills anticipation and matching. Country delegations presented the state-of-play of their countries’ skills anticipation systems, and considered how the cases presented could be adapted to their own context. They will return for a follow-up meeting in November.
