The FINANCIAL — Emirates is activating phase three of its operations from Emirates Terminal 3 at Dubai International by launching flights to its European network, from Tuesday, 28th October 2008 at 14:30hrs.
From this date, all Emirates’ flights to Europe, Americas, the GCC, Middle East and Africa will operate from Emirates Terminal 3, escalating operations to 168 daily flights or 60 per cent of all the airline’s services.
According to Emirates, the first flights to depart from the new terminal in phase three will be EK003 Dubai-London Heathrow and EK047 Dubai-Frankfurt, both at 14:30hrs.
EK008 London Heathrow-Dubai scheduled at 19:45hrs will be the first Emirates European flight to arrive at the new terminal.
All flight numbers in the 000, 100, 200, 700, 800, 900 series and any extra flights on these routes will now depart and arrive at Emirates Terminal 3 at Dubai International.
Emirates Terminal 3 is buzzing with activity as passengers are eager to experience and explore the new terminal and its facilities. In the first 12 days of operations, Emirates Terminal 3 handled 336 flight departures, 345 arrivals and nearly 150,000 passengers.
Self-Service Kiosks at the new terminal have become a huge hit among passengers, with more than 2,500 having used the kiosks to-date. There are 24 kiosks – 12 each with and without baggage – in the tastefully furnished First & Business Class check-in lounge. In addition, 36 kiosks – 18 each with and without baggage – dot the enormous Economy Class check-in lounge.
The Online Check-in feature on www.emirates.com has also caught on with more than 4,600 passengers having checked-in online since the start of the new terminal, highlighting the advantages of the feature – seat selection, convenience, and time-saving.
The fourth and final phase will include flights to the Indian Subcontinent, East Asia and Australasia, taking the total operations to 269 flights every day.
Customers are advised to check their departure terminal before setting off for Dubai International. The correct terminal number is printed on the flight tickets.
With the addition of its 22 European destinations, from 28th October, Emirates will fly to 54 online destinations from Emirates Terminal 3.
Europe: Athens, Birmingham, DĂĽsseldorf, Frankfurt, Glasgow, Hamburg, Istanbul, Larnaca, London Gatwick, London Heathrow, Malta, Manchester, Milan, Moscow, Munich, Newcastle, Nice, Paris, Rome, Vienna, Zurich and Venice.
GCC/Middle East: Amman, Bahrain, Beirut, Damascus, Dhahran, Doha, Jeddah, Kuwait, Muscat, Riyadh, Sana’a and Tehran.
Africa: Abidjan, Accra, Addis Ababa, Cairo, Cape Town, Casablanca, Dar es Salaam, Entebbe, Johannesburg, Khartoum, Lagos, Mauritius, Nairobi, Seychelles, Tripoli and Tunisia.
Americas: New York, Houston, Sao Paulo and Toronto. Emirates will launch services to Los Angeles from 26th October and San Francisco from 15th December.
