The FINANCIAL — Embraer (Empresa Brasileira de Aeronáutica S.A.; NYSE: ERJ; Bovespa: EMBR3), one of the world’s largest airplane manufacturers, has chosen Accenture (NYSE: ACN) and Servigistics to team on the implementation of a Service Parts Management solution.
The system will help Brazil-based Embraer to accelerate deliveries of spare parts, reduce associated costs, improve planning and improve customer service.
Accenture is providing Embraer with supply chain systems integration services and expertise, process design capabilities, spare-parts capability enhancement services, and training. Servigistics is providing its Service Parts Management Software solution and professional services to automate and improve Embraer’s service parts planning techniques.
Embraer will use the Servigistics Service Parts Management solution across several locations worldwide. The system will be implemented throughout Embraer’s entire fleet on the commercial, defense and executive aviation markets.
“This new system is highly beneficial to Embraer, our customers and suppliers because it delivers superior inventory optimization and advanced spare parts planning capabilities in a single, integrated supply chain solution,” said Sergio Frias, Vice President of Material Solutions, Embraer. “Customer service is a key differentiator for Embraer. By leveraging this advanced technology, we can balance the level of service our customers demand while achieving higher operational efficiency on standard parts sales and especially on service solutions.”
“In the complex, resource-constrained airline industry, delivery of the right spare parts at the right time in the right quantities is paramount to delivering high-performance business results,” said Damien Lasou, Accenture’s senior executive leading the global Aerospace & Defense practice. “Working along side Servigistics, Accenture is committed to helping Embraer effectively overcome this complicated challenge.”
“We are excited to serve one of the world’s most successful and rapidly growing airframe manufacturers,” said Eric Hinkle, Chief Executive Officer, Servigistics. “In an industry where equipment uptime is mission critical for customers, Embraer recognizes the strategic importance of investing in world-class service parts planning technology to maintain their lead in the marketplace.”
