The FINANCIAL — Eurasia Partnership Foundation (EPF), in partnership with the American Chamber of Commerce, the FINANCIAL and TBC Bank said it has invited companies operating in Georgia to participate in European Employee Volunteering Awards – GEORGIA to recognize and celebrate the companies across Georgia with the best employee volunteering schemes that help people facing barriers to work increase their employability skills.
For years, Eurasia Partnership Foundation’s (EPF) is promoting civic engagement, philanthropy, and practices of volunteerism in Georgia. To raise the profile of volunteering, to increase the public’s awareness of its societal value, and to promote 2011 as the European Year of Volunteering, EPF decided to join others in implementing the European Employee Volunteering Awards program. Specifically, EPF in partnership with the American Chamber of Commerce, the FINANCIAL and TBC Bank , will be organizing a competition among businesses to select one representative for each category that will participate in the Europe-wide competition.
EPF expects Awards entries to come from 22 countries across Europe, including Belgium, Czech Republic, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Netherlands, Poland, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Turkey, Ukraine , and the United Kingdom. The European Employee Volunteering Awards program offers an unprecedented opportunity for Georgian businesses to showcase their employee volunteering systems that are supporting disadvantaged individuals to increase their employability skills.
The European Employee Volunteering Awards – GEORGIA is looking for innovative programs developed by companies of all types and sizes with aim to help employees to gain new and valuable employability skills on both local and global levels.
Interested companies can enter the Awards in 4 different categories:
– Large Company
For companies with more than 250 employees that are developing one or more employee volunteering program with a focus on employability skills.
– Small Company
For independent trading organizations with no parent company, employing less than 250 (or full time equivalent), which are developing one or more employee volunteering programs addressing employability skills.
– Most Innovative
For companies that are doing things differently, finding new ways to do things or addressing challenges on employee volunteering and employability skills in an innovative way.
– Newcomer
For companies whose programs are at early stages of development, which have started out really well and are on track to deliver good results on employee volunteering and employability skills as time goes on.
Application Submission Procedure
Interested companies should fill out special application forms that could be found on the EPF website: www.epfound.ge and submit to EPF no later than 6 pm on December 25, 2010.
Completed applications could be provided in hard copies or through e-mail: info@epfound.ge. Applications should be accompanied by signed cover letter (scanned and e-mailed in case application is submitted electronically) clearly indicating awards category company would like to apply for.
Evaluation
Completed applications will be evaluated by the special judging committee, which will be formed for this purpose. The overall winner in each of the four categories will go forward to the European Judging Panel.
At the European Judging the winners in each category from each of the 22 countries running the Award will all be judged together in one panel to select the overall winner across Europe for each category.
Timeline:
November 30, 2010:
National launch of the Awards – from this point on interested companies will be able to download the application form and apply for awards;
December 25, 2010: Closing date for entries;
January 9-16, 2010: National rounds of the selection;
January 18, 2010: Submission of national winners to the European Judging Panel;
Week of February 7, 2011: European Judging Panel for European entrants – Judges will meet in Brussels, Belgium to select the overall winners in Europe in each category;
Week of February 21, 2011: Award ceremony for the winners of the national selection in Georgia;
Week of March 17, 2011: Celebration event in London, UK.
