The FINANCIAL — According to RIA Novosti, an Ethiopian airliner with more than 90 passengers on board disappeared from radar early on January 25 and is believed to have crashed into the Mediterranean Sea.
The Boeing plane was heading from the Lebanese capital, Beirut, to Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, when it disappeared from radar half an hour after takeoff from Beirut airport, CNN said on its website.
BBC said the plane disappeared from radar screens five minutes after take-off.
Beirut coast residents are reported to have witnessed a plane on fire crashing into the sea.
