The FINANCIAL — The municipality of Yerevan has received an official report of the European Commission’s Joint Research Centre (JRC), which has confirmed the approval of a Sustainable Energy Action Plan (SEAP) for the city.
The report contains a number of recommendations related to the housing and transport sectors, which aim at improving the Action Plan. The implementation of activities envisaged in the SEAP will cut annual emissions 20.6% by 2020, while the energy consumption in all municipal infrastructures and in the transport sector will be reduced by 16% in total, according to EU Neighbours East Info.
The SEAP was developed by a group of experts from the Energy Saving Foundation (which supports the implementation of the Covenant of Mayors in Armenia), together with the specialists from the Yerevan Municipality and the UN Development Programme in Armenia.
