The FINANCIAL — The Ukrainian capital of Kyiv hosted an international forum on developing cooperation in reducing chemical threats, and enhancing chemical safety and security.
The event discussed important instruments to enhance national and regional security and to reduce chemical threats in Ukraine and beyond.
An important objective of the forum was to analyse how transborder cooperation could contribute to the reduction of environmental threats, including those deriving from hazardous chemicals. The participants looked at EU policies and practices in this field, and discussed the development of voluntary fire brigades in Ukraine.
A team from the EU-funded Programme on Prevention, Preparedness and Response to Natural and Man-made Disasters in the Eastern Partnership Countries (PPRD East 2) attended the event and actively participated in the discussions.
