The FINANCIAL — In early June, the EU Monitoring Mission Georgia hosted two courses on medical security for safety and security personnel of civilian Common Security and Defence Policy Missions. 34 participants from several EU CSDP missions took part in the courses.
The course, which had been organised by the EUMM for the first time, gave participants the knowledge, skills and ability required to prevent and respond in cases of medical emergency in a safe, secure, timely and effective manner, according to EUneighbours.
The EUMM was started in September 2008 following the EU-brokered Six-Point Agreement, which ended the August war between Russia and Georgia. It contributes to stabilisation, normalisation and confidence building between the conflict parties. The mission provides civilian monitoring of parties’ actions, including full compliance with the Six-Point Agreement and subsequent implementing measures throughout Georgia. It also informs European policy in support of a durable political solution for Georgia.
