The FINANCIAL — The Dziennik Gazeta Prawna daily writes that the six-month event is not only an opportunity to earn extra cash for hotels, restaurants, conference venues, airline carriers and translators, as the lion share of profits will go to companies named the official partners of the prestigious six-month event.
As is the usual practice of countries taking over the helm of the Council of the European Union, the Polish Foreign Ministry has cherry-picked six brands which are official partners of the presidency: Orange, Peugeot, Orlen, Scania, Coca-Cola and Microsoft.
The firms have estimated their joint engagement in preparing the products for the presidency to be at 10 million zloty, a small um compared to a total of almost 430 million (up to 99 mln euro) earmarked for that end, as the Foreign Ministry estimates.
