The FINANCIAL — The quality control of products, as well as EU experience in sampling products and laboratory checks will be the focus of a workshop for employees of Ukraine’s State Inspection for Consumer Rights Protection and the Economic Development and Trade Ministry that will take place in the country’s capital Kyiv between 28 and 29 July. The event is organised by the Technical Assistance and Information Exchange Instrument of the European Commission (TAIEX) upon request and in cooperation with Ukraine’s State Service on Food Safety and Consumer Protection.
During the two-day event, experts from Belgium and Lithuania will present the EU’s legal and practical frameworks of market surveillance during product sampling for their further expertise, border inspection controls, as well as quality control in laboratories and other related issues. On the second day, the experts will train their Ukrainian counterparts dealing with risk management and analysis in the product quality control area.
TAIEX is a demand-driven tool that supports partner countries with the approximation of national laws, regulations and quality standards to those of EU Member States in the framework of Cooperation or Association agreements signed with the EU. In the Eastern Neighbourhood, TAIEX works with Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Moldova and Ukraine.
