The FINANCIAL — A series of workshops for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in Ukraine on zero waste production began on 30 August. The sessions are being supported by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), in the framework of the EU4Business initiative.
The workshops will allow participants to learn in detail about best practices in lean production. They will be hosted by two companies that have already been successful in cost-effective production and are ready to share their experience.
The participants will discuss the current state of production in the country and its potential, identify the key causes of production losses and review the basic tools for the implementation of cost-effective production. They will also discuss the development of an individual plan for implementing cost-effective production in a particular company.
The workshop is being organised in the framework of the EU-funded Network of Business Support Centres, implemented in Ukraine by the EBRD, with the aim of improving improve the competitiveness and bankability of Ukrainian SMEs through the provision of business advice and capacity building. At least 30,000 SMEs and entrepreneurs will benefit from the project.
