The FINANCIAL — On 5-8 November, an expert from the United Kingdom visited Georgia to deliver a training course for the Aviation Security Division of the country’s Security Police.
During the four-day workshop, the trainer presented on international standards for airport security and the UK’s experience in protecting its own aviation sector. He also covered current and likely future threats, and lessons learned.
On the second day of the training course, the expert visited Tbilisi International Airport. The visit helped the expert to better understand the operation procedures and challenges faced by the Aviation Security personnel deployed in airports and ensured that subsequent training sessions were correctly targeted.
The training event was organised under the EU-funded “Sustaining Border Management and Migration Governance in Georgia” project.
