The FINANCIAL — The balance between EU-Ukraine trade was at near-equal levels in 2015 with a surplus of EUR 1.2 billion, the smallest in the past decade, according to figures released by Eurostat on November 23.
The data covers the period before application of the Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Agreement (DCFTA) as part of the EU-Ukraine Association Agreement.
Ukraine was the 28th largest EU partner for imports in 2015 after Israel and ahead of Morocco, and traded most actively with Germany and Poland.
EU exports to Ukraine were dominated by manufactured goods, mostly chemicals, machinery and vehicles, while EU imports from Ukraine were almost equally shared between food, drink, raw materials and energy (49%) and manufactured goods (47%).
