The FINANCIAL — The EU has welcomed the appointment of Prime Minister Valeriu Strelet and the formation of the government in Moldova, noting that “the EU looks forward to intensive cooperation with him and his government”.
In statement issued July 30, the EU said: “It will be moreover crucial for the new government to act resolutely on the serious crisis in the banking sector”, starting with the reform of the justice sector and the fight against corruption, according to Euro East.
The statement underlined that the EU “remains committed to work with the new government towards a comprehensive, peaceful settlement of the Transnistrian conflict based on the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Republic of Moldova with a special status for Transnistria.”
