The FINANCIAL — On 16 July, the Energy Community, under the EU4Energy Programme, launched a technical assistance project to improve the legislative and regulatory environment of the Ukrainian gas market.
The project will focus on assisting the National Commission for the State Regulation of Energy and Utilities of Ukraine in developing an improved natural gas distribution tariff methodology compliant with Directive 2009/73/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council concerning common rules for the internal market in natural gas.
The updated draft methodology will be ready by the end of the year and will include an IT tool and action plan for implementation.
The EU4Energy Programme aims to improve the quality of energy data and statistics, shape regional policy-making discussions, strengthen legislative and regulatory frameworks and improve access to information in the partner countries. The Programme forms a key component of the EU4Energy Initiative.
