The FINANCIAL — A new EU project recently launched in the Georgian municipality of Keda will focus on the diversifying local economic activities, improving the investment climate and empowering competitive agricultural and environmental practices.
The new project will follow the earlier EU-supported rural development actions under the European Neighbourhood Programme for Agriculture and Rural Development (ENPARD) in the Borjomi, Lagodekhi and Kazbegi municipalities of Georgia.
According to the Delegation of the European Union to Georgia, this year, the EU launched rural development projects in five new municipalities in the country, including Keda, Khulo, Dedoplistskaro, Tetritskaro and Akhalkalaki municipalities.
The EU is supporting agriculture and rural development in Georgia through its ENPARD Programme. Implemented since 2013 with a total budget of €102 million, the main goal of ENPARD is to reduce rural poverty in Georgia.
