The FINANCIAL — On July 4, members of the European Parliament voted for increasing of the volumes of additional temporary trade preferences for the imports of Ukrainian agricultural and food products.
“The preferences will be introduced for the period of up to three years as a supplement to the Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Area (DCFTA) with the European Union. This decision is pending the approval of the Council of the European Union later in July,” – reported the Deputy Minister of Economic Development and Trade of Ukraine – Trade Representative of Ukraine, Nataliya Mykolska.
According to the announcement, the fight against corruption becomes a condition for granting Ukraine preferential exports.
As a result of negotiations between the European Commission, the Council of the European Union and MEPs, the European Parliament’s Committee on International Trade (INTA) proposed to increase the quotas, including oats – up 4 thsd tonnes, wheat – up 65 thsd tonnes, corn – up 625 thsd tonnes, barley – up 325 thsd tonnes, groats and pellets – up 7.8 thsd tonnes, according to APK-Inform.
As a reminder, the tariff quotas provided by the EU autonomous trade preferences, provided 950 thsd tonnes for wheat, 250 thsd tonnes – barley, 400 thsd tonnes – corn, 4 thsd tonnes – oats, etc.
