The FINANCIAL — Experts expect less important role of ideology in the forthcoming presidential election campaign, they said at a press conference.
According to experts, the election campaign will be built around consequences of the economic turmoil and the role of candidates in the fight against it.
Director of the Situations Modeling Agency Vitalii Bala said that the presidential candidates will mainly try to discredit their opponents.
Bala also criticized Verkhovna Rada’s intention to cut the presidential campaign from 120 to 90 days.
He said that the presidential candidates will need time for the presentation of their election program.
According to deputy director of the Situations Modeling Agency Oleksii Holobutskyi, Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko and the leader of the Party of Regions Viktor Yanukovych will get into the second round of the presidential elections.
At the same time, he considers that the political technologies of Yanukovych will be directed to the reduction of the turnout at the elections.
As Ukrainian News earlier reported, in December 2008, Verkhovna Rada Chairman Volodymyr Lytvyn expects difficult and conflict presidential elections.
