The FINANCIAL — An Expression of interest for providing the population with high-speed internet has been completed.
The four telecommunication companies – Fiber-Optic Telecommunication Network – FOPTNET ltd, GREENNET ltd, Silknet JSC, Delta-Comm Ltd have submitted their applications, according to Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia.
On May 6, a session of the governmental commission was held at the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia. The session discussed the applications submitted for expression of interest for the project – creation of broadband infrastructure based on the principle of the open admission for provision the whole of Georgia with the high-speed internet. The session was headed by Natia Mikeladze, Deputy Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia.
The governmental commission should discuss the submitted applications at the working meetings to reveal the so-called short-list until May 15 2015. After the process completes, the short-listed candidates will have an opportunity to submit the last proposals to the commission until May 30 2015. The governmental commission will discuss the proposals and then apply to the Georgian Government with recommendation to reveal the winning company.
