The FINANCIAL — Farmers New World Life Insurance Company announced that James Davenport has been appointed to the role of chief financial officer (CFO) effective April 1. Davenport previously held the role of global head of risk and control at Zurich Insurance Group, since 2013.
In his new role, Davenport will be responsible for the internal and external financial reporting for Farmers Life. He will also maintain his position as a member of the Committee of Sponsoring Organizations (COSO) advisory council, a joint initiative of private sector organizations dedicated to providing thought leadership through the development of frameworks and guidance on enterprise risk management, internal control and fraud deterrence, according to Farmers.
“We are fortunate to be able to benefit from James’ wealth of experience,” said Simon Lodge, chief financial officer for Zurich Global Life North America. “We are excited to have him in this new role and wish him great success.”
Davenport will be based in Mercer Island, Washington, where Farmers Life is headquartered.
