The FINANCIAL — Nokia and FiberStar have signed an agreement to deliver new backbone capacity in the greenfield areas of Java and Bali. Nokia will deploy its latest DWDM technology, enabling speeds of up to 100G per wavelength to support FiberStar in delivering quad play network with advanced Triple Play telecommunications services.
Java is fast emerging as the center of economic activity in Indonesia, and Bali remains a prominent tourist destination. Connecting these islands is part of FiberStar’s commitment to scale up fiber optic coverage to more cities all over Indonesia by 2019, according to Nokia.
Nokia’s technology will optimize FiberStar’s network with the maximum capacity at the most effective cost per bit. The signed agreement also includes a five-year service maintenance contract to guarantee excellent network performance.
