The FINANCIAL — On the occasion of the Paris Air Show, World Airlines Awards 2011 has awarded Finnair the title of Best Airline in Northern Europe.
The decision is founded on global research based on direct passenger assessments.
World Airline AwardsT draws on the aviation industry's highly respected Skytrax World Airline Survey research and is also known as the Passengers Choice Awards. This survey is recognised around the world as the only global and independent airline operations measure of customer satisfaction research. Finnair scored its success in the Best Airline, Northern Europe category.
"Finnair's aim is to offer high quality service and peace of mind to its customers at every stage of the journey," says Anssi Komulainen, responsible for the airline's customer service. "For us, the award and the customer feedback behind it are gratifying proof that our passengers truly value our service and the efforts of our staff."
In Asian-European traffic, Finnair provides the shortest, most environmentally sustainable and most comfortable connections to major Asian centres from those European cities that do not themselves have direct flight connections to Asia. Finnair will also be adding to its Asian destination selection, as well as its network of European connections, in the future.
A total of 18.8 million air travellers from over 100 countries took part in the survey, assessing over 200 airlines according to 38 different criteria, including check-in, seat comfort, passenger cabin cleanliness and service. Now in its 12th year, the survey is recognised as a benchmark for quality in the world of aviation.
