More than a hundred participants enjoyed days based around tuition in sports and values in the city of Tbilisi, official website of RealMadrid reports.
The Real Madrid Foundation has landed in Georgia for the first time, running one of their clinics in collaboration with Free Football. More than one hundred boys and girls got the chance to enjoy a few days of education in football and values, led by the Foundation’s coaches, all supported by the Real Madrid Academy.
Over five days, 110 children aged from 7 to 14 took part in both daily matches and training sessions at the FC Zestafoni training complex in Tbilisi. Thanks to support from partners and collaborators (The Georgian Football Federation, The Football Development Foundation in Georgia, the Tbilisi City Council and McDonald’s) twenty pupils were able to attend the clinics on a scholarship. The coaches enjoyed tutoring a group of participants who were excited to learn the Real Madrid Foundation methodology, based around instilling the positive values of team sports to contribute to a wholesome education.
New clinic in Batumi
Thanks to this project’s success, during the course of this season, another clinic is set to be run in the city of Batumi, while there are plans for another team to travel to Madrid to attend a clinic at Real Madrid City. The proceeds from these training and improvement activities contribute to the sustainability of the Foundation’s socio-sporting projects in Eastern European countries.
