The FINANCIAL — In 2019, a five-star hotel Hilton Tbilisi will be opened in Tbilisi.
The hotel will be situated in the former building of the Ministry of Agriculture of Georgia. For this purpose, $20 million investment will be implemented in the 200-room hotel. The contract has been signed between the Hilton Corporation and the Granat Company by the vice-president of Hilton Worldwide Michael Collin and the president of Granat Georgia Elguja Tsintsadze.
First Vice Prime Minister of Georgia, Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Dimitry Kumsishvili attended the signing ceremony, according to Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia.
“In 2019, a new five-star hotel under the brand of Hilton will be opened in Tbilisi, where it is intended to arrange the Michelin restaurant. This is another good example of cooperation between the state and the private business sector. Tbilisi and its settlers have long waited for opening such an important facility in this beautiful building, which is situated in the center of the city,”- Kumsishvili said. According to him, the construction of the hotel will employ several hundred people while after the enactment of the hotel, over 200 people will be employed in the facility.
In 2015, upon the agreement signed between the Granat Company and the Government of Georgia, the company undertook the responsibility to open a 5-star International Brand Hotel in the former building of the Ministry of Agriculture, in Kostava Street.
