The FINANCIAL — Perth Airport is pleased to announce that Travelex has been selected as the successful tenderer for the foreign exchange concession at Terminal 1 and Terminal 3.
Perth Airport conducted a competitive tender process for this new six-year agreement and was impressed with the very high-quality proposals received.
The contract includes the six existing stores—reconceptualised by Travelex to create greater engagement with passengers—as well as three new mobile kiosks across both terminals, according to Perth Airport.
“Travelex has demonstrated that it has the ability to evolve the foreign exchange business at Perth Airport and we are delighted to partner with Travelex for a new concession term,” said Steve Holden, Chief Commercial Officer, Perth Airport.
“Travelex’s proposal brings innovation and greater choice to Perth Airport’s passengers through new store layouts, real time digital and their kiosk on the move,” said Mr Holden.
“Travelex is thrilled to continue our long standing partnership with Perth Airport. Throughout the 24 years at Perth we have placed passengers and customers at the heart of everything we do. We’re constantly striving to innovate and bring new experiences to our customers that engage and deliver excellent customer service, our new innovations proposed at Perth continue to demonstrate this” said Dion Jenson, Managing Director, Travelex.
Perth Airport recently won new international recognition for its efforts to provide a world class gateway to Western Australia, being named the CAPA Asia Airport of the Year 2017 (Medium Airport category, <30 million passengers).
The award comes on the back of a $1billion upgrade to the airport, surging customer satisfaction ratings, and as Perth Airport begins talks with airlines for a further $2.5 billion wave of investment to meet predicted strong passenger growth.
“We will continue to focus and invest in the passenger experience at Perth Airport in advance of the major developments,” said Mr Holden.
“Perth Airport is also planning to deliver new quality retail space in 2018, which will expand the duty free, specialty retail and food & beverage offerings at the terminals, providing more choice for our customers,” said Mr Holden.
