The FINANCIAL — Two men and two women were aboard the Cirrus plane, which disappeared off the radar at about 8 pm.
The aircraft had been flying from Italy and it crashed near the Silesian village of Zyglin.
Fire-fighters from across the region rushed to the site but none of the Poles had survived the accident.
Cezary Orzech, a spokesman for Katowice's airport in Pyrzowice, has reported that the pilot had complained of engine problems shortly before the plane vanished from the radar.
Poles have been involved in two other crashes in recent years with this particular Cirrus model.
The first was at Zurich airport in October 2008, an accident that killed three of the four Poles on board. The second accident occurred last May in Bielefield, Germany. Four Poles perished in the crash.
