The FINANCIAL — Despite the current decline of the exports of flour and wheat bran from Ukraine, as well as stagnation of the domestic market of the product, for 8 months of 2018 some regions of the country increased the production volumes of flour.
In particular, Kiev oblast became the leader in the production figures, and in January-August the volumes totaled nearly 187 thsd tonnes of flour, up 6% compared with the last year figures (176 thsd tonnes). Also, Khmelnytskyi oblast increased the production by 13% (from 65 thsd tonnes to 74 thsd tonnes), Lviv oblast — up 9% (from 40 thsd tonnes to 44 thsd tonnes), and Chernihiv oblast — up 27% (from 14 thsd tonnes to 18 thsd tonnes).
Generally, in the reporting period the production volumes of flour at large-scale enterprises of Ukraine totaled 1.1 mln tonnes, down 10% compared with the same period last year (1.3 mln tonnes).
According to APK-Inform estimations, in the first two months of the new season the production volumes of flour in Ukraine totaled nearly 293 thsd tonnes, down 14% compared with July-August of 2017/18 MY (340 thsd tonnes). At the same time, in the current season the general production of flour will reduce by just 1% — to 2.5 mln tonnes. At the same time, in terms of the low export rates APK-Inform will reduce the forecasts, said the at APK-Inform Agency, Andrei Kupchenko.
