The FINANCIAL — The Natural Gas distributional company’s privatization question is nearly settled. This gas distributional company belongs to the regions of Kakheti, Mtsketa-Tianeli, Shida and Kvemo Kartli, Imerethi, Samegrelo-Guria and Adjara.
The tender of this object is being represented by the Ministry of Economical Development. Three companies have expressed the will to purchase this object: Wissol, Sockar Energy Georgia, and Iveria 7.
The new owner of the gas pipe will be obliged before the government to pay the price of the privatized property in the given term, to supply the Georgian population uninterruptedly with the natural gas, to keep the number of existing subscribers and to continue gasification of the new subscribers.
According to the Ministry of Economical Development, the final results of the competition will be known in the upcoming future.
One of the giants Gasoline Company Sockar – Azerbaijani plans to hand out a USD 69 million investment for the privatization of the gasoline distributional company. USD 10 million is for purchasing the net, another 10 million for rehabilitation of the existing net, and USD 49 million for the building of a new net.
Sockar Energy Georgia made an announcement on the five lots: Samegrelo-Guria, Adjara, Imerethi, Kvemo Kartli, Mtsketa and Kakheti. According to the company’s estimation the subscriber number will grow and reach about 350 thousand.
Sockar Energy Georgia is actively involved in importing and distributing gasoline products in Georgia. The Azerbaijani Government Gasoline Company (Sockar) possesses a 51% share of Sockar Energy Georgia and the other 49% belongs to the Georgian partner.
The FINANCIAL contacted Mikheil Jibuti, the PR Manager of Sockar Energy Georgia, but he declared that he would not comment about the above mentioned issue until the end of the tender.
Sockar Energy Georgia’s rival in this tender is Wissol Georgia, which already won the Marneuli and Telavi gas distributional companies tender.
Company Sakhata will implement the gasification process in Akhalkalaki and in the regions of Ninotsminda. The company won the tender announced by the Ministry of Energy of Georgia.
The company plans to make USD 11 million, they plan to gain the profit during the upcoming 10 years.
Three companies made announcements in the ministry: LTD Arkshenservice, LTD Sakhata and Sockar Energy Georgia. The advantage was given to LTD Sakhata.
