The FINANCIAL — Russia's gas giant Gazprom has rejected a request from Germany's energy group E.ON to fully peg its supplies to spot gas prices, which are currently much lower than gas prices stipulated in Gazprom's long-term contracts, a Gazprom official said on February 21, according to RIA Novosti.
"Yes, E.On has applied to us, but we do not agree," Gazprom Export's head of contract structuring and price formation department Sergei Komlev said, when asked whether Gazprom had received the request.
Some unofficial reports claim Gazprom has been supplying some of its gas to E.On at spot prices since the beginning of 2011.
