The FINANCIAL — Deputy Ministers of Economy and Sustainable Development – Genadi Arveladze and Giorgi Chikovani, held a meeting with the Deputy Minister of Economic Development of the Republic of Italy, Michele Geraci.
Trade and economic relations between Georgia and the Republic of Italy as well as the prospects of further expansion of the cooperation were discussed during the meeting, according to the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia.
Georgian side positively assessed the visit of the President of Italy to Georgia and noted that it will give a great boost to the development of the relations between the two countries. Including strengthening economic cooperation and establishing the new bilateral lucrative links between the businesses. The focus was also made on the deepening of the cooperation in the energy sector, including hydropowers, renewable energy sources, etc.
Georgian side provided the Italian guests with the detailed information on the trends of Georgian economy, ongoing reforms and state initiatives aiming at stimulating business. Special emphasis was paid to the state program Enterprise Georgia. As it was noted, the Enterprise Georgia Agency has been facilitating and organizing the visit of the Georgian manufacturers to the international lather producers festival – the LineaPelle, which is held in Milan. At the same time, in 2019, the Agency will support the participation of the Georgian companies operating in the field of architecture and internet design in one of the world’s largest international festival – Salone del Mobile Milano.
The conversation also focused on the investment opportunities in different investment sectors, including real estate and tourism, IT and business process outsourcing (BPO), as well as production.
