The FINANCIAL — Georgia has completed obligatory state legal procedure of putting in effect of the GUAM (Georgia, Ukraine, Azerbaijan, Moldova) Agreement on Multi-Modal Transportation. The Agreement was signed between the Governments of Member States to the Organization for Democracy and Economic Development – GUAM.
The President of Georgia signed the Decree on putting in effect of the above Agreement.
Under the document, Foreign Minister of Georgia must report to the GUAM Secretariat on completion by Georgia of all obligatory state legal procedures for putting in effect of the Agreement.
The GUAM Agreement on Multi-Modal Transportation was signed between the Governments of Member States to the Organization for Democracy and Economic Development – GUAM on 19 June 2007 in Baku.
The Agreement regulates relationships between the natural and legal persons at transportation of cargo implemented in cooperation of railway, maritime, river, motor transport and ferries as well as determines the rights, obligations and responsibility of each participant of the transportation.
The Agreement does not refer to the rights and obligations under other international Agreements that Member States to the Organization for Democracy and Economic Development – GUAM are party to.
The Agreement is in force in the field of international multi-modal cargo transportation between the Member States to the Organization for Democracy and Economic Development – GUAM and transit via their territories by the carriers registered at the territory of State of one of the parties and departure and destination points at their territories used by railway, river, maritime and motor transport.
