The FINANCIAL — President of the European Council Donald Tusk thanked Georgian soldiers for participating in the EU-led peacekeeping mission in the Central African Republic, according to InterPressNews.
Donald Tusk addressed the Georgian soldiers at the Presidential Administration on July 21.
“I want to thank you for serving peace and stability in Europe and abroad. You hard efforts and self-devotion have received high evaluation in the EU.
I am personally very proud of you and your efforts in the Central African Republic. I am grateful for your willingness, courage, professionalism, dedication. Georgia, therefore, is probably one of the best examples of international solidarity in the world.
Our military operations in Central Africa create security, help local people and promote humanitarian aid. We are working together, on behalf of the international community, under the mandate of the Security Council and within the framework of broader international efforts.
Georgia’s participation in the mission is the second largest prerequisite of the country’s success. I welcome your decision to be involved in the rapid response team in Central Africa. Together we achieve a lot in terms of European and global cooperation. I highly appreciate your efforts and wish good luck to you, my dear warriors,” said Donald Tusk.
