The FINANCIAL — “Georgia is today the world’s leader in term of open and transparent government. It has been for two years that we hold high-level sessions within the framework of the UN General Assembly, in parallel to the General Debates. We assumed huge responsibility by becoming the chair of the Open Government Partnership (OGP) “ – the Georgian Vice Premier, Foreign Minister Mikheil Janelidze said.
According to Mikheil Janelidze, Georgia’s chairmanship of the Open Government Partnership is a clear recognition of Georgia’s progress in the areas of open government and e-government. In its capacity as Chair of the Open Government Partnership, Georgia will share its experience with other members of the forum in order to ensure that the government in the OGP countries is more transparent and open.
At a meeting with Journalists, Mikheil Janelidze also commented on the Georgia-EU co-operation that is at its highest level, according to the Foreign Minister. He also spoke about the importance of the Georgian Prime Minister’s meeting with the EU High Representative within the framework of the 72nd session of the UN General Assembly, according to MFA of Georgia.
