The FINANCIAL — Batumi has been hosting the 13th International Conference “Georgia’s European Way – Stability, Development and Diversity”. Georgian Prime Minister Giorgi Kvirikashvili and Commissioner for European Neighbourhood Policy and Enlargement Negotiations Johannes Hahn opened the 13th International Conference.
State Minister of Georgia on European and Euro-Atlantic Integration David Bakradze and Chairman of the Global Security Forum (GLOBSEC) Rastislav Káčer also addressed the participants of the Conference, according to MFA of Georgia.
Georgian Foreign Minister Mikheil Janelidze, who is taking part in the Conference, will make a speech at the thematic session: “EU neighbourhood policy review and its priorities for the associated countries”; Michael Spindelegger, the Director General of the International Centre for Migration Policy Development, Former Austrian Vice-Chancellor will act as a moderator.
“The Conference is yet another evidence of Georgia’s great support by the European political leaders and expert circles. Today we altogether will discuss Georgia’s European way and Georgia’s European integration”, the Georgian Foreign Minister said at the ceremony of opening the International Conference.
The Minister underlined that the discussions within the Conference will focus on the main aspects of Georgia’s European integration, on the implementation process of the EU-Georgia Association Agreement, on the visa liberalisation and on the economic integration with the EU.
“The discussions will focus on all components, which have already yielded the positive results for Georgia, including the Agreement on Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Area, the increasing export and the extending of the EU market to Georgia. There are concrete results for our business in the spheres of education, transport, energy, culture and sectoral integration as well”, Mikheil Janelidze said.
The Georgian Foreign Minister will also hold bilateral meetings in the frames of the Conference.
The annual conference has been organised by the Office of the State Minister of Georgia on European and Euro-Atlantic Integration. The Batumi International Conference will last for two days, on 14-15 July.
