The FINANCIAL — As a result of the natural disaster the Georgian-American “school of the future” will receive a financial aid from the Hungarian government. The agreement was signed today between the director of the school – Ryan Arner, and the Hungarian Minister of Foreign Affairs – Peter Siarto. The event was also attended by the deputy Minister of Education and Science – Giorgi Sharvashidze and the Mayor of Tbilisi – David Narmania. Giorgi Shashvarshidze made a comment, that such support from the Hungarian government is invaluable.
Giorgi Sharvashidze in his speech emphasized the scholarship program, which aids Georgian students to study in Hungaru since 2014. The scholarship sends approximately 50 Georgian students to various higher educational institutions in Hungary. The deputy Minister also noted that Georgian educational isntitutions are having a close cooperation with partrner Hungarian educational isntitutions, and he expressed his hope, that under the “Horizon 2020” program, Georgian and Hungarian scientists can collaborate closely and participate in the European researches, according to the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia.
The building of the “School of the Future” was completely destroyed by the natural disaster which occured on June 13, 2015. Because of this, the City Hall provided the school with a new piece of land at Lisi Lake, where the school will build a new building at their own expense, whereas the technical apliances, laboratories, libraries and etc. will be fully equipped by the Hungarian government.
