The FINANCIAL — On 21 September 2015, Georgian Deputy Foreign Minister David Dondua met Deputy Chief of Mission at the U.S. Embassy to Georgia Nicholas Berliner, according to MFA Georgia.
Discussions focused on the ongoing co-operation within the framework of strategic partnership between the two countries and prospects for its further development.
The sides highlighted issues relating to the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action on the Nuclear Program of Iran signed in Vienna, on 14 July 2015.The Georgian Deputy Foreign Minister emphasized that the agreement achieved in Vienna represents an important step towards international peace and stability and welcomed the extraordinary efforts being made by the sides involved in this process. The sides expressed the hope that the JCPOA will be further implemented in full compliance with the mutually determined parametres. At the same time, the Georgian Deputy Foreign Minister underlined that the agreement will help Iran break out of isolation and this will undoubtedly have a positive impact not only on global peace and stability but will also create new opportunities for the development of economic co-operation.
Special attention was paid to the next round of the Geneva International Discussions. The Georgian side reaffirmed its commitment to continue constructive engagement in the negotiations and emphasized the necessity to adhere to the existing format and its agenda.
