The FINANCIAL — Georgian Deputy Foreign Minister Davit Jalagania received Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Korea to Georgia (residing in Baku) Kim Chang-gyu, according to MFA of Georgia.
Discussions during the meeting focused on important issues on the agenda of bilateral and multilateral relations, including co-operation in the areas of politics, trade and economy, investments, tourism, education and culture. The sides also discussed the issues relating to conduction of regular political consultations between the foreign ministries of the two countries, exchange of visits, improvement of the legislative framework, strengthening of inter-parliamentary links, importance of close co-operation within the international organizations and the necessity of promoting people-to-people contacts
The sides highly appraised the close economic co-operation recently established with the Republic of Korea and the active participation of Korean companies in Georgia’s investment projects. The Georgian Deputy Foreign Minister expressed the hope that the successful experience in this area will lead other Korean companies too to take an interest in Georgia’s business environment.
Talking points also included the preparations to mark the 25th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Georgia and the Republic of Korea in 2017, including planning of high- and highest-level visits and organisation of cultural and art events.
The Korean Ambassador reaffirmed the Korean Government’s firm and unequivocal support for Georgia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.
The sides expressed the readiness to continue active co-operation for developing friendly relations and deepening mutually beneficial co-operation between the countries.
