The FINANCIAL — Georgian Deputy Foreign Minister Vakhtang Makharoblishvili held a meeting with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Bulgaria to Georgia Dessislava Ivanova.
The sides discussed the friendly relations and partnership between the two countries. Dessislava Ivanova reaffirmed Bulgaria’s firm support for Georgia’s European and Euro-Atlantic integration. The Bulgarian Ambassador spoke about the projects ongoing within Bulgaria’s Development Programme. For his part, Vakhtang Makharoblishvili thanked the Bulgarian side for practical assistance.
The sides spoke extensively about Georgia’s priorities with respect to NATO and the European Union with a focus on the upcoming meetings and visits scheduled to take place during 2017 within the framework of these organizations, according to MFA of Georgia.
The sides paid special attention to the possibilities of further developing trade-economic relations between the two countries and to the importance of encouraging people-to-people contacts.
The sides positively appraised the existing co-operation between the Levan Mikeladze Diplomatic Training Centre under the Georgian Foreign Ministry and the Diplomatic Institute under the Bulgarian Foreign Ministry.
