The FINANCIAL — Georgian doctors and GM Pharmaceuticals were summarizing the results of surveys and studies on GMP medicines during the special forum last week.
Industry professionals came to conclusion that GMP manufacturing meets European standards.
GMP celebrated 12th anniversary in February 2012. The company is manufacturing up to 150 types of medicines and more than 60 out of the whole amount are exported to 12 countries.
“I’m cooperating with the GMP for more than 10 years,” Ketevan Barabadze, Pediatrician said. “I use GMP medicines in my daily clinical practice and have great results. GMP is one of the best companies of the country.”
“There are three criteria of checking quality of medicines: efficiency, less side effects and price. GMP medicines satisfy all three criteria on a high level. Therefore they compete to medicines produced in leading European countries. The company deserves appreciation because they are producing medicines of wide spectrum.”
GMP is the only company in Georgia that manages the whole manufacturing process locally. Sale of medicines amounted to 4, 5 million boxes of drug in 2011. Medicines produced by GMP are exported to Azerbaijan, Armenia, Moldova, Turkmenistan and other markets. Company now is preparing for export to Belorussia, Vietnam and France.
“GMP medicines are well-accepted not only in Georgia, but abroad as well,” said Vova Shengelia, Head of Endoscopy center. “I appreciate them only positively. My directions, endoscopy gives me possibility to check results of treatment by examinations. As general results are positive.”
GMP is the first medicine manufacturer in Georgia which works with the standard of Good Manufacturing Practice. Company owns two ISO certificates and some other local and foreign certificates of quality. The factory is equipped with German and Switzerland techniques.
“We are adding several new medicines to our spectrum per year,” Giorgi Antadze, General Director of GMP said. “We manufacture new medicines as they appear in the market. This gives possibility Georgians to use new medicines for lower prices.”
“We thank to Georgian doctors, who intensively prescribes Georgian medicines. Without them we couldn’t gain such success. Competition is quit high in the pharmaceutical market. But till today we successfully manage to overcome this challenge. GMP will grow this direction of development. Main achievements and high results are still in the future, ” Antadze claims.
GMP employs 300 individuals. The company intensively participates in the educational projects.
