The FINANCIAL — Georgian First Deputy Foreign Minister David Zalkaliani held a meeting with the delegation of the Slovak Republic led by Karla Vusterova, the Director General of the Department of Multilateral Co-operation, Development and Humanitarian Assistance of the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs.
The sides discussed issues relating to co-operation between their two countries within the framework of international organizations, specifically in the context of Slovak Chairmanship in 2019. The sides highly appraised co-operation in the bilateral format, as well as within the framework of the Visegrad Group. David Zalkaliani thanked the Slovak side for the successful projects implemented within the development assistance programme. Karla Vusterova reaffirmed Slovakia’s readiness to further support Georgia and to continue to identify new projects. David Zalkaliani provided the Slovak side with detailed information on the security and humanitarian situation in Georgia’s occupied territories, the importance of the Geneva International Discussions, and the progress achieved within its latest round.
Special attention during the meeting was paid to Georgia’s European and Euro-Atlantic Integration agenda. David Zalkaliani also highlighted the paramount importance of the international community’s support for Georgia and the need to keep the issue of Georgia high on the agenda of international organizations. The Slovak side reaffirmed Slovakia’s firm support for Georgia’s Eurpean and Euro-Atlantic integration course, according to MFA of Georgia.
