The FINANCIAL — In the frames of the event dedicated to the International Seafarers Day, an entrepreneur fair was held on the central square of Batumi. The Prime Minister of Georgia Mamuka Bakhtadze, Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Giorgi Cherkezishvili and the Head of the Adjara Government Zurab Pataradze examined the fair. Head of the Enterprise Georgia Agency of the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development, Mikheil Khidureli guided the Prime Minister and other honorable guest around the fair.
Production by the beneficiaries of the small entrepreneurship component of the Enterprise Georgia program was introduced at the fair. In addition, the fair in Batumi also hosted production by the startups of the Innovations and Technologies Agency as well as the various stands representing various features of the Agency, including simulators used in the teaching process of the Marine Academy students.
Giorgi Cherkezishvili highlighted the importance of the small entrepreneurship development. The Minister confirmed that Enterprise Georgia programs will be available in the future as well. “We are continuing these programs, we are going to even expand our proposals and hope that this will facilitate our entrepreneurs, especially small-size entrepreneurs. Over 400 projects have been financed within the Enterprise Georgia programs, while in terms of micro-businesses we have 14 000 beneficiaries with over 6000 projects financed. The total investment volume of these projects equals to 900 million GEL,” – Giorgi Cherkezishvili noted.
