The FINANCIAL — “The labor right is a fundamental human right and there are no doubts on this issue in this society anymore. Recently, the Government has confirmed this by amendments made to the labor legislation. We should do the right accents – the goal of the Government is to protect the labor rights and labor conditions and the only things for discussions are the priorities and the time,” – the Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia, Giorgi Gakharia stated at the Conference named Labor Rights in Georgia – Agenda of Changes.
The Conference discussed such important issues as labor rights, labor safety and international experience in this direction, strengthening women’s role in economics, equal payment, parental rights and discrimination against women, according to Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia.
Representatives of legislative and executive authorities of Georgia, diplomatic corps accredited in Georgia, international and non-governmental organizations, the Public Defender’s Office, the unions of the employees and employers and the experts of the field participated in the event.
The Parliament of Georgia hosted the Conference with the support of the International Labor Organization.
