The FINANCIAL — “Georgia’s economy is developing more rapidly than we expected,” – this is the statement by the President of the European Bank for Reconstruction, Sir Suma Chakrabarti that he made upon the completion of the meeting with the Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia, Giorgi Gakharia. The main topics of the meeting were the economic situation of the country, its economic strategy and the development of the private sector. The EBRD President talked about the investments, the DCFTA, the capital market and the importance of increasing of the private sector competitiveness.
“We have discussed the strategy of the country. We also talked about Georgia’s economy, which is developing more rapidly than we expected. We also overviewed the priorities of the EBRD, talk about the importance of private sector development. Thanks to its geographic location, Georgia has huge potential in linking the countries of the region,” – Suma Chakrabarti said.
The EBRD President is paying a two-day visit to Georgia. On September 6, Suma Chakrabarti participates in the meeting of the Investors Council, according to Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia.
