The FINANCIAL — “Through participation in this Fare we made first and most important steps in the direction of integrating the Georgian economy and Georgian business with Chinese companies and the Chinese economy, since the Free Trade Regime gives us the opportunity to receive the maximum of the benefits,” – Giorgi Gakharia said to the representatives of the media at the opening of the China International Fair for Investment & Trade held in Xiamen, Fujian Province, People’s Republic of China.
The Minister stated that Georgia was granted the status of the honorable invited country and, therefore, Georgian exhibition was arranged at the exclusive exhibition space. 120 Georgian companies are taking part at the Fare, according to Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia.
“This Fare is the largest in the world that is dedicated to the investments. The event is of particular interest for us since we mark some key episodes regarding the relations with China – we signed the Free Trade Agreement, we are represented at this Fare as a host country and today we will sign some solid contracts with the largest Chinese companies” – the Minister of Economy stated.
Giorgi Gakharia noted that the dynamics of trade with China are becoming more intense and China is already at the first place in terms of export. “Such exhibitions promote the process where our entrepreneurs have the opportunity to establish contacts in a very short time and launch the sales of their products. Today, on the stand, which is the biggest stand at this Fare, there are represented 120 Georgian companies of different sectors including agriculture, light industry, high technologies, etc. By the way, there are also government organizations and institutions like the GITA, the Georgian Railways, the Ministry of Energy and I believe that the trade turnover will continue increasing while the bilateral economic relations, especially in such fields as agriculture, transportation, service and light industry, will be developed very rapidly” – the Minister noted.
China International Fair for Investment & Trade is the largest Fare which will be held on 18-21 September following the initiative of Government of the People’s Republic of China, where Georgia is granted the honorable status of the host-country and has a special exhibition space. Giorgi Gakharia and the Fujian Province Vice-Governor addressed the Fare participants with the welcoming speech.
During the Fare, the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development and the LEPL Produce in Georgia, with the support of the Ministry of Agriculture, the Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure, the Ministry of Energy and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, have scheduled to introduce Georgian capabilities in different directions and mainly in such fields as business-friendly environment, investments and trade opportunities to the participating parties.
Georgia’s stand at the Fare represents the products and services introduced by the government agencies as well as the private sector operating in such fields as investments, export and wine production. Any interested person will be able to talk to the representatives of the Georgian companies and state agencies and receive the detailed information. It should be noted that the beneficiaries of the State Program Produce in Georgia also participate in the Fare where they are able to introduce their export products to the general public and establish close business ties with the international companies.
